I went to see Sacha Baron Cohens new film Bruno yesterday. It wasn’t a match for his previous film Borat, and was far from being a classic, however I thought it was worth watching. Many people disagree though and voiced their opinions on the net, particularly on Twitter.
According to Time Magazine, the negative reviews on Twitter could have cost the producers of Bruno $20 million due. It did make just over $30 million in it’s opening weekend however early signs were indicating that it was going to make $50 million or more.
Word of mouth can be the making or breaking of a movie. In the past it took a few days or a few weeks for word of mouth to spread but Twitter seems to accelerate this process.
Just goes to show how influential Twitter has become. I’m sure that movie producers will start paying attention to Twitter more in the future and may dedicate more money to promoting their films through it.

I am a big fan of Twitter. It is giving me lots of new fiends…er…friends…. who want to follow my new reality show
